Ibraaz

Ibraaz describes itself as a brave space for art, culture and ideas from the Global Majority. An initiative of the Kamel Lazaar Foundation, it began in 2011 as a digital platform for visual culture from the Middle East and North Africa, and now occupies a Grade II listed building on Mortimer Street in Fitzrovia — five floors that have previously been a synagogue, a hospital and an artists’ club, and that today hold a library-in-residence, a bookshop, a café and rooms for gathering and workshops.

Screenings take place in Minassa, the cinema and performance room in the basement, as part of a multidisciplinary programme spanning exhibitions, talks, music, performance and publishing.
