Nunhead Cemetery

Nunhead Cemetery is one of the seven great Victorian cemeteries built around the edges of London, consecrated in 1840 and now a wooded South London green space of grand monuments, formal lime tree avenues and country lane paths.

The Friends of Nunhead Cemetery, formed in 1981, promote "the conservation and appreciation of the cemetery as a place of remembrance, of historic importance and of natural beauty", running monthly guided tours and conservation days. The grounds occasionally host open-air film screenings after dark.
