About
Sapphic Cinema is London's only monthly FLINTA film series, founded and hosted by Abi Asisa. Each event brings together film, poetry, and performance to explore queer and sapphic storytelling — centring the work of femme, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, and asexual filmmakers, with a particular focus on Black and PoC communities. Events are open to all.
The series has screened at venues including the BFI and 16 Collective, and collaborates with major cinema programmes to surface films that speak to the complexities and nuances of queer experience. More than a film night, Sapphic Cinema is a space for community — audiences are encouraged to stay, chat, and shape future programmes.
