West Wimbledon Hall

West Wimbledon Hall — still widely known as Avenue Hall — was built in 1881 and has been home to the West Wimbledon Society since 1914. The society was founded "for the mental and moral improvement of the developing population of the area, as well as to enjoy concerts and talks", and describes the hall today as "a warm, welcoming and sociable place to be enjoyed by the whole community". It was refurbished inside in 2015 and out in 2018 with help from the Big Lottery Fund and the London Marathon Charitable Trust.

The main hall seats around 60 under a sanded oak floor, an upright piano and a hearing loop, and carries a weekly timetable of classes and meetings plus monthly society events — occasionally including film screenings.
