About
Langthorne Park is a public green space in Leytonstone, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. It opened in June 2000 and takes its name from Stratford-Langthorne Abbey, which once owned 1,500 acres of local land. Alongside gardens, a quiet garden, an ecology area, public art and picnic facilities, the park has an amphitheatre and a small hall, an AdiZone with a streetball court, tennis wall, traversing climbing wall and outdoor gym, and floodlit hard courts for multi-sport and basketball.
During the summer the park plays host to open-air cinema, with films screened outdoors in its green surroundings.
