The Heathcote & Star is a restored Victorian pub on Grove Green Road in Leytonstone, with what it claims is the biggest beer garden in the area. Drinks lean on local London products, and the kitchen is run by resident guest trader The Dragon Flame, serving BBQ food and Sunday roasts.
Upstairs, the Grove Green Room has Edwardian leaded windows, high ceilings, its own bar and a large-screen projector. It hosts the pub's weekly Family Film Fridays — two animated films screened free from 4pm — alongside pub quizzes, DJs, live sport and community events run by local groups.
