Big Penny Social

Big Penny Social in Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow, describes itself as "a pub, arts centre and town square all rolled into one. A place to eat, drink and be entertained; for all ages and every walk of life." The brand was born in September 2022, when Truman's Social Club became its flagship venue following the sale of the Truman's Beer trademark.

The 1,400-capacity site takes in a beer hall, a versatile events space and one of the largest sunny beer gardens in East London, with a menu built on seasonal ingredients and local producers. Programming runs from live music, big-screen sports and movie nights to family discos, craft markets and comedy, and the film side of it comes largely from Deeper Into Movies, whose nights here cover both music documentaries and family screenings.
