About
Pink Palace is a weekly queer cinema night held every Wednesday in the basement bar of the Rio Cinema in Dalston — the UK's only regular weekly queer movie night since 2021. Run as a lo-fi, safe space for queer film history, screenings are informal and relaxed, with chairs and stools, an introduction to each film, and space to stay and chat afterwards.
Programming draws from cult queer directors and overlooked queer cinema across the decades, with a recurring focus on frank portrayals of sexuality, identity, and punk aesthetic. Special events feature drag performances, spoken word, and live shadow casts. Audiences are actively encouraged to suggest future films.
