Deptford Cinema is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run community cinema in South East London. For more than six years it had a home at 39 Deptford Broadway, known for adventurous community programming, until the pandemic forced it out in 2020. It has been nomadic since, and is still looking for a new permanent space in Deptford.
In the meantime it screens as pop-ups: a residency at The Brookmill on the last Sunday of the month, and events at the Telegraph Hill Centre, usually with pay-what-you-can tickets. The volunteers run it on a non-hierarchical basis and are always open to collaborations.
