The South London Film Festival calls itself “the Official Film Festival of South London” — a not-for-profit “passionate about encouraging creativity and inspiring new generations of filmmakers”. It was created, in its own words, “because we are passionate about providing an opportunity for filmmakers worldwide to showcase their creativity with the multicultural community of South London”.
Submissions are open to filmmakers from inside and outside the UK, with a free-to-submit category for students and educational institutions and categories including Climate Change Inspired and Ads + Commercials. The programme mixes award-winning films, UK premieres, live Q&As, special guests and networking events, across strands such as the Official Awards Showcase, Behind the Smile and She Owns the Scene.
