PictureEast Film Festival is a free, community-led fortnight of cinema rooted in East London, celebrating stories from the area and around the world through feature films, shorts, and panel discussions. Run by The New Black Film Collective, it champions underrepresented voices and creates genuine dialogue between filmmakers and local communities in Newham and Barking & Dagenham.
The festival screens across venues including Vue Dagenham, Stratford Library, and UCL East — with all tickets free. Alongside the film programme, it hosts previews, galas, and conversations that bring East London's diverse communities into the heart of the cinema experience.
